Dr. Kimberly Peacock is an instructor/senior research scientist in the Department of Medicine, Division of General and Hospital Medicine at UT Health San Antonio. She received her training in educational leadership at the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. In 2016, Dr. Peacock accepted a position at UT Health San Antonio to assist in the development of a Military and Veteran Caregiver Portfolio (MVCP). The purpose of the MVCP is to conduct research to identify and understand the impact of caregiving on the health and well-being of military caregivers. Dr. Peacock has been involved with military research concerning service members and their families at a Military Treatment Facility for over 12 years. Her area of expertise is in the development of educational/training material and curriculum development. Dr. Peacock has dedicated her career to identifying and developing interventions focusing on maintaining the health and wellness of service members and their families. Dr. Peacock’s latest work includes co-author on the book entitled The Caregivers Companion: Self-Care for Health in Mind, Body & Spirit (2016) and co-authoring the publication, A Family’s Affair: Caring for Veterans with Penetrating Traumatic Brain Injury (2017). She has conducted numerous interventional studies and utilizes her knowledge of curriculum development to create projects focusing on quality of life for military families. Dr. Peacock is a Gold Star Wife, former military child dependent, and most recently a ‘Marine Mom.’
